Erin Edmunds
Speciality: mens' hair, long hair, eyebrows, makeup
Erin started her career in 1997 as a makeup artist, and expanded it to include hairdressing in 2002. Erin attended the San Francisco Institute of Esthetics and Cosmetology, has trained extensively with Bumble and Bumble, Wella, and Goldwell, as well as MAC Cosmetics, BeneFit, and Dior.
Bumble & Bumble Product of Choice: "Right now, its hair powder. It gives hair tons of volume, covers grey, and is great for updos. I even use it to anchor bobby pins in place on slippery hair."
Styling Tip: "For a smooth and bouncy blowout, use grooming creme mixed with a drop or two of defrizz on damp hair. Blow-dry hair about 70% dry, then section and finish the blow-dry with a big round brush for that Victoria's Secret hair we all want."
Erin is inspired by the everyday fashion risks that result in unique, effortless chic as seen on women (and men) of San Francisco and the openness and curiosity of children. (not to mention-have you seen their sun-kissed, perfectly naturally highlighted summer hair?) In one of the biggest challenges of her career, Erin once did makeup for 25 models in a dark tent on the lawn behind City Hall. In heels. These moments are also fondly remembered highlights, and Erin is rewarded immensely when clients still refer her years after their wedding, or when a client tells her their spouse swooned when they came home after their appointment.
"If I've made my client feel sexy, I've done my job!" Erin is a San Francisco native, a published childrens' book illustrator, and a natural redhead. She can usually be found in her kitchen, laughing hysterically with her daughter, dancing to old Michael Jackson songs, and baking something. She also loves sushi and yoga.
